Reinventing Process Automation for the Digital Enterprise

Any company today needs to think like a software company — placing technology at the heart of their organization. Process automation and emerging technologies like Robotic Process Automation (RPA), artificial intelligence, microservices and the general move to the cloud provide tremendous new opportunities for automating operations and transforming your business.

To truly realize this opportunity, companies are now looking for new approaches to achieve full end-to-end automation and orchestrate all relevant aspect of a process, be it human or system. Successful organizations also bridge the automation divide between business and IT and support agile collaboration that includes business stakeholders, citizen developers as well as professional developers. What they need is a highly flexible, infinitely scalable process automation platform that runs on any cloud, public, private or hybrid.

Camunda is driving this sea change with a new vision for process automation — enabling every enterprise to automate any process, anywhere.

Process Migration 201: Tips, Tricks, and Techniques

If your organization relies on BPM and your process definitions are considered to have “long running” process instances (perhaps due to user tasks etc.), then there comes a time when your organization needs to define their process instance migration strategy. This talk will show you how to define your migration strategy as a business process and to use BPMN to help control different scenarios during your custom migration.

Authentication, Authorization and beyond – Camunda Security 101

When users ask us for best practices and guidance around security concepts and Camunda BPM, they often get the consultant’s most favorite answer: it depends! And indeed, due to the great flexibility of the product and the many architecture options, it is hard to come up with a generic solution that fits for all scenarios. In this talk, I will show you the foundational building blocks that you need to consider and how they play together. I’ll use live coding examples to illustrate how to solve common problems as well, so that after the session you will be able to come up with your own security architecture that suits exactly your needs.

Driving Continuous Improvement using Process Metrics

Process optimization is more relevant than ever before. Business-friendly reporting and the ability to share process insights across the organization in real-time allows teams to continuously monitor and improve processes. Unfortunately, many teams still don’t have access to real-time process information and struggle to answer simple process questions and KPIs.

Automating 5 Billion+ Process Node Executions a Month with Camunda: 24 Hour Fitness

With all our orchestration, transformation and business rules buried in java code it was becoming time-consuming to understand how our systems operated, bring new hires up to speed and answer use case questions. Due to the complexity of our business rules and the general mistakes that naturally take place in human communication, it was time-consuming and error-prone to translate information from the product owners to developers and vice versa. 24 Hour Fitness has now been using Camunda to solve this problem for 5 years and is now pushing over 4.7 Billion FNI and 2.2 Billion EDE a month. In this short talk, I will discuss how we accomplished this.
